Need Help Choosing a New ''High Speed'' Rig

I am considering a new rig and am at the point where I need opinions based on personal experience.

I want light and easy. The rig must be super stable when in a full sprint.
I need the room for at least four double armalite pouches and a dump pouch.
I am considering the move from TT's basic plate carrier simply because I think there must be something -a little- better out there.

I have been considering chest rigs due to their breathability but have no idea about their stability (or comfort) characteristics.

The most promising contender right now is the TT MAV one-piece.

I would probably buy the X-Harness, too.

I would have to buy a separate pack for hydration at milsims.

Other rigs I was looking at:

Basically I have no idea when it comes to this gear and need to know what works and what doesn't.
Espeically I need opinions on the chest rig/mini-pack combo. Also, if you think I should stick with my current rig
(based on http://www.tacticaltailor.com/modularplatecarrier.aspx), tell me why.

cheers,

No Molle is lighter than Molle. Some sort of fixed rig might be what you're after.

I can't say if a Tac vest or one of the London Bridge style setups will do you best.

Here you go. Put the dump pouch on your belt.

I should clarify that I plan to carry eight mp5 mags clamped together, so shingles will not work.

dump pouch on belt will be super unstable...I think. Seems like a terrible idea.

I'm hoping I can get some reasons for the links provided. No one has addressed stability issues. Whats wrong with the MAV?

thanks!

EDIT: I plan to go with a dump pouch like this unless you guys can sway me:http://www.tacticaltailor.com/dumpdemopouch.aspx
I own one already and its a super solid piece of gear.

EDIT2: WTF ABOUT HYDRATION? You guys didn't answer any questions!

The Blue Force Gear rig is all elastic, meaning it can carry MP5 mags, M4 mags, pistol mags, dressings, radios etc.

You already said you would have to buy a hydration carrier. What question did you need answered? Which one? Take a look a price, features and which company has it in stock.

When you look on the new products page it appears there is a girl about to pee on that rig, maybe that's the issue.

But seriously at $90 Canadian for pouches and carrier that is a hard to beat setup. Fake stuff costs more.

Re dump pouches, belts are fine. You don't want to run 10+ empty mags in them. After you have done the immediate reload you wan to shuffle the empties back to your rig. For some vests you'll have a big inner pocket that you can zip open. Leave it unzipped and just tuck the empties in there instead of having a dump at all.

:P Like I said I already OWN an on vest dump pouch and it doesn't jump around much at all.
In the field lots of guys have maxpedition style belt setups and they don't seem any better, thats for sure.

EDIT: like I said, I have no idea about 1)chest rigs vs plate carriers or 2) combining chest rigs with separate hydro packs.

pugs144 February 15th, 2010 16:19

For me, the mission drives the gear. That rules out using plates and plate carriers when playing in a wooded/grassy environment which I'm assuming you play in. You'll thank me once summer comes around.

You can still use chest rigs in that environment, however. Combining chest rig and hydro pack is commonplace.

This is strictly personal preference.
