Chronograph

I'm looking for a chrono (around the $100 range) that can be used for both paintball and airsoft. However, all the models I've seen online are solely dedicated to either paintball or airsoft. I'm sure there is bound to be one in the pile that will work appropriately for both, but was just hoping if you guys had any input or experience with this.

Define portable.

I have a Shooting Chrony F1 with the paintball sheild and cradle. Works fine for everything. Local IPSC shooters use the same unit as does the local archery range. You can't fit in your pocket though if could fit into a cargo pocket in your BDU's. Not really something I'd recommend if you want one to carry with you. I hear Xcortech are pretty good and very portable.

Thanks for sharing mate, looks perfect!

Yea I changed up my first post - I have no idea why I asked specifically for a portable unit. Seeing that I will be doing all my chrono readings at home.

I wouldn't recommend Xcortech for paintball use. In fact, ANY shoot-through chronograph like that isn't recommended for paintball or real steel use, as the hot gasses from a real gun as well as an exploding paintball could foul the sensors, and cleaning an enclosed tube is a real pain in the butt.

Go with something open, like the Shooting Chrony series. Although, like Darklen said, they are not exactly "portable" in the same sense as most airsoft chronies. So, with that clear, you'll need to define what you would consider to be 'portable'
