If you do happen to get a replacement part, you could hold the slide and press the slide release while slowly pushing forward the slide. This way your slide catch wont wear out as quick. I've have my kp-05 for about 3-4 months and mine is still fine. But then again, i could've gotten lucky and mine was built sligtly better than yours, or you just got unlucky and got a bad one.
