Man.. All these little tips and tricks have me all excited to start that tech blog I've been thinking of doing..
You should start a blog on that subject. I would guess I've seen the same YouTube videos you have of people showing how to lube gearboxes and the end results is they don't show the complete process. No where have I seen them show that the teeth of the gear need a small amount of lube or the piston teeth or anything about lubing the tracks for the tappet plate of piston track, etc. And while you’re at it a good explanation on how all version 2 and 3 gear boxes are not equal would also be a worthy cause..
