Well H20 isn't conductive at all, so I'm going to have to say no.... Just don't go using your AEG in salty or dirty water and you should be fine lol
External or internal battery doesnt matter, if it's underwater it's underwater. If your really paranoid, wrap the handguard in plastic wrap (NOT the battery itself, that just submerges it when the plastic wrap fills with water)
