From experience, you will find that a decent quality hunting scope made for real gun will be miles ahead than any "replica" scope out there.

The look will be quite close on both, but the clarity and precision of the lenses in the real deal is far better. I am not even talking about 500$ scopes.

A 100$-150$ scope at Walmart/Canadian Tire does an awesome job. I had a 175$ M1 replica and a 75$ on sale Bushnell scope. The Bushnell one was a LOT better than the replica.

When you are choosing your scope, you want to check a few things:

Eye relief. For an M700/VSR-10, between 3" and 4.5" is good. Longer will cause trouble and shorter will prevent you from operating the bolt properly.

Lense size (diameter). Between 38mm and 50mm. Anything over that will be in the way of your barrel. Anything under will have poor eye relief and won't be easy to sight.

Tube size (diameter). Most scopes are 25mm or 30mm. The later is supposed to be clearer, but that is when comparing same quality scopes. In my exemple, the Bushnell had a 25mm tube vs. the 30mm tube of the copy, yet it was better.

Scope lenght. That might sound like a cosmetic-only choice, but it is not. If you take a short "M4" scope, you will have to use higher rings to have it clear the rails properly. If you choose a longer scope, you can then use mid or low height rings and have the scope opening go closer to your barrel after the receiver.

Ring height. That is closely related to the shape of your scope. You want the scope to hug your rifle as close as possible while being just high enough for you to sight it properly.
