If it's not underwritten by a qualified body to attest to it's safety, I wouldn't use it. Hell, if we were on the same field, I think I'd rather call it a day than take a chance shooting at you.
There are a lot of things you can McGuyver in life, but don't chance it with eye protection, seriously.
If it's just an issue of sighting a scope, there are oodles of other options. Go with a mouth piece, mesh lower mask or shemag for mouth protection.
