The G&P body is if you want to make a Danish / Dutch C8, not a Canadian one.

Your C7A2 is looking good there Spectre Wulfe, just pull off the furniture and give it a spray of OD paint. Thats what most of the C7s I've handled had, paint starting to come off and everything. I think only the brand new C7A2's have non-painted furniture.

You can easily get away with not having an ambi mag catch and selector switch as not all the upgraded rifles have them. Same thing with the charging handle. I broke three of them over the course of two summers and the armorer finally just tossed an standard handle on my gat.

Get a stock pad for the butt stock and then proceed to glue it on (yay for expedient fixes by armorers)

The metal mags they issue for training ar'nt ALL that better then the thermo ones. (Most are super old and are standard tack welded) I broke the spine on one by simply falling on my chest during contact drills. It was fun pulling it out of my TV and watching the blanks go streaming out as I tried to reload. The followers and springs suck too, but thats more from age then anything else.

You can always add a small rail for the hand-guard and add on a folding grip. The CADEX made ones are actually kinda nice. If you can't get an ELCAN you can always go with an EOtech 551/552 or a SPECTRE. Baring that, you can always just rock a simple BUIS. The issued one is not the greatest in the world (broke one last summer) as they are plastic, but are used quite a bit. My former Van Doo WO on his second tour in A-Stan told me that he used the BUIS more then then the EOtech.
