Even if it is not a realistic gun model or a very rare obscure one, they will still probably seize it. I would not risk it since the CBSA is known to be particularly incompetent when it comes to distinguishing firearms from perfectly legal parts... (they recently seized a gearbox claiming it was a gun - ask Conker).
Your best bet if you would try to buy one would be to buy it from one of the aged-verified retailers which has it in stock. Otherwise, you more than likely to end up on the CBSA blacklist of people which are "randomly" searched everytime they cross the border.
