Winter loadouts

I don't really see many snow camo threads, so I thought this would be applicable to ASC. These are two of my winter load outs that I got out of the closet today (since we had our first snow--an entire 2 inches!)

This is the Arktis Tundra with an old LBV from the Air Force. I usually run light with a warm winter loadout, and might just end up with a battle belt and suspenders. You can't see it but I'm also wearing a combat shirt in the same pattern.

This is Defcon5 winter Vegetato and I'm wearing their Multiland plate carrier simply because I wanted to see how it would look. This is worn over long underwear and is closer to a uniform than the military over-whites.

The Arktis is a fabric material while the Vegetato is a heavy nylon weave, almost like a rain coat but softer. Arktis is pricey and made in the UK--and the pattern is mostly restricted to military and LE. The Defcon5 is made in China. Most of their uniform items are made in Pakistan, but a lot of their gear (such as the PC) are made in China. They are very good quality, however. Both have gaiter style pant legs, and the Defcon5 actually zip the entire way up the pant leg.

I don't know if there are Arktis or Defcon5 dealers in Canada, but there are several in Europe.

For winter loadouts I wear a pair of Columbia Titanium insulated boots, which are a hiking boot style and fit well under the gaiter pant legs. I also have a Gentex SOHAH helmet with a plain white cover if I wanted to do a helmet with the loadout.
