Just be nice to your postal workers when you do see them and build up a friendly repor.
Then they will always deliver your package and wait for you at the door instead of leaving the "pick-up the next day" slip.
The smaller packages can normally be just left in your mail-box, but the larger boxes require your signature or handing it off to you in person.
