I haven't handled a STAR G36, and my CA one is about 4 years old now, so I'm not sure about their new stuff. The STAR conversion kit is definitely ABS though. Maybe it's made out of a different stuff than their actual rifles (this would probably stand to reason since it's designed for an ABS TM G36c).
