What was happening was that there was a wire that lead just over the clip and when the clip was inserted it would move it and it wouldn't align right so it was feeding wrong. He moved the wire and now it works perfectly.

Nice, glad to see you've got it working properly. Pay attention to that wire on dissassembly. Often times it'll move into a bad possition and cause problems or become pinched, and if left in that possition you'll eventually need to rewire the box.
