Twice the price of what specific brand 1911? If it's something that's a decent brand then probably not worth it.

ie. KSC 1911 might go for $250 and TM 1911 for $500. IMO probably not worth it for a student or someone on a bit of a budget. On the other hand if it's some cheapo clone 1911 (KWC, or HFC or w/e) for $150 or a TM for $300 then it's probably worth it.

PS: Pulled these numbers out of nowhere. They're just example numbers. you need to find the price/performance ratio that's right for you.
