Well, the current internals are probably still good enough, but from experience I would put the metal lower at the top of the list.
I bought the whoop-dee-doo model and have had some critical issues with the plastic lower (I could only get the cansoft version).
My G&G AK performs to excellent standards, but the chronically broken plastic lower takes it out of the game. It is a paperweight right now.
