Got my milspec tube from double tap and it is awesome. Played a few night games with it and I'm unbelievably happy with it's resolution. I rolled with a gen 1+ for about 4 years and was fairly happy with it's ability to fill in the details of some darker areas, but it never really gave you the whole picture. My new d300 fills in those darker areas and really gives me a complete picture.

Gen 1's are fun and at least get you a glimpse into the world of night vision. If you want something that that actually let's you see at night, get a gen 2+ milspec or better.
