I personally haven't had any durability issues with the AEG version of the Firefly hop up rubber, and the air seal seems "good"... it's on par with Marui. It offers no noticeable improvement for air seal.
On the other hand, the PDI ones do offer a bit of improved air seal in the range of 1-2% fps increase. It's more noticeable if you convert a gas gun to use this.
I'd actually recommend the Firefly nub... because it's a rubber nub, it offers more give than the hard nubs like what SCS and the Big-Out H-Hop offers. The flexibility in the give will prolong the life of the hop up rubber itself.
