Is the Slide metal or plastic?
If its metal i would throw it in the oven at 175 for about 25-30 mins and hit it with high temperature BBQ paint ive done this to many receivers and trust me when i say its durable.
If its plastic just go with a normal flat black matte finish a few light coats should do it.
Oh yeah and dont worry about any comments as to why your cooking gun parts in the oven. LOL
