The 2 piece is awesome for dawning/doffing the rig. Once adjusted it sits just as comfortably as any 1 piece chest rig I've used.

Consideration is that you technically lose 2 columns of webbing due to the buckles in the front. They actually sell a little patch that attaches over the buckles to give you those two columns back, but it makes dawning/doffing the rig more difficult by adding velcro to the mix.

Some folks are HUGE proponents of running primary mags centered on their stomach (which a 1-piece allows) but I never saw the value in this if you ever have to lie prone.

If you can live with 2 less columns, and don't mind having a defined "Strong side and weak side" I would recommend the 2 piece hands down.
