It might look like a foot, but it serves it's purpose, which is to support the recoil of the rifle.
You can buy the real VLTOR buffer tube adapter and install any stock you want on it...
That piece is 500ish$.
Or you can go past the look of the stock and realize it's function.
I don't like it that much either, but having a square block with a AR-style stock in it would be way worst.
