Japanese does not use the simplified form of Chinese characters. Maybe for few words like "Kokuji", but they is almost always use the traditional form of Chinese characters.

I know for a fact both Chinese and Japanese has several Romanization way of writing. For Chinese, it's Pinyin, IPA, Yale, Wade-Giles and Gwoyu luomazi (sorry for not writing the diacritics, was too lazy ).
As for Japanese, there are IPA, Kunreisiki and Hepburn.
