I too am a recent noob and feel that I got a great first AEG. I bought a King Arms full metal M4 and am loving it so far! Its got great internals and can keep up with some of the more expensive guns on the market.
So far I have only upgraded to a bearing spring guide (to relieve tension on the spring) and also did a shim jobbie on the gears and its running great! My next upgrade will probably be the trolley wiring, tight bore and hopup upgrades with cosmetic upgrades too of course!
It doesn't come with a 1 point sling mount so this will be something you will need to add too. I recommend the magpul ambidextrious sling mount.
All in all I would recommend this gun. Great price for what you are getting stock.
