A single multi chemistry charger do all different batteries. The price goes upwards for those that charge at high amperages and sometimes 12S Lipos at one time.
For airsoft use, you can pick up a muli purpose charger for less than $30. Don't get those $10 automatic black transformer looking chargers. A decent one allow you to program it with a LCD display.
NiMH is older technology and prices will be higher than Lipo although easier maintenance. I have gone MOSFET and Lipo on all my AEG in the last little while.
NiMH has no memory, so is a good starter power source with out the worry of Lipo.
