Well, never had any problems with use of non -aviation transmitters inside the aircraft before... since you will be flying VFR anyway NAV interference should not matter either.
As far as licensing goes, normally people get their REC license for ultralights. Your PPL/CPL should be fine. Get type rating and you are good to go. Can log hours too! Here is CARS for ya!
