As for the MultiCam design itself. I agree with Zeonprime's so eloguently put description, "looks like vomit". or Scarecrow's "Spilled paint" analogy.
After playing with it this past Sunday at DragonOps, I would say it is just as effective as any other camo that was on the field that day, including CadPat/MarPat. But this applies only to DragonOPS (as it's the only location I've played at with it thuse far), it had a diverse mix of green lush woodlands, dead tall grass (tan colour), shaded areas (dark green/black) and such. My cam seemed to be relatively effective in all those types of growth. Can't say how effective it would be in an all wooded area... I would imagine not very and good 'ol CADPAT would dominate.
The Crye Precision BDU pieces I have are extremely well made. Bartacked PALS webbing, x or cross-stitching, double and quadruple stitching in critical stress areas/seams... ample pockets, quality zippers and pulls, integrated pads and a killer tactical shirt using material similar to Under Armour's heat and moisture wisking ability.
I do prefer my CADPAT BDU but as an alternate BDU for those with some expendible income, it is a good option. IMO.
