Long story short: I grabbed a pair of EFJohnson handmics for a great price, however they have an XTS "Jedi" connector; I want an U329 mil plug on them.
And I suck at that whole thing, however I want to learn (and don't want to pay someone 90$/hour to do it for me).
From what I gathered:
Jedi connector schematics:
My plug + U329 pinout:
*Note that "Opt 2" should be "PTT" switch; the original schematic I used did not specify that.
So from that, I gathered the following:
U329 - XTS
A ..... 1 + 8
B ..... ???
C ..... 5
D ..... 3
E ..... Empty
F ..... Empty
My issue: what's the deal with "Ext. Speaker" vs "Speaker" on the XTS?
After some thinking, I figured the obvious: "Speaker" is for the handmic's built-in speaker and that "Ext Speaker" for the optional earbud. I think, anyway. That would definitely make sense.
In that case... should I solder both to the U329's
B terminal?
And then I gotta take care of the resistances...
