I don't own the G&G version, but I own the CA version which follows the same design. The stated barrel length is 500mm, but 550mm is a better fit, if you plan on getting a better barrel. The G&G I handled had a terrible stock hop up rubber. The gearbox design is pretty much indestructible, so don't be afraid of using a heavy but durable piston setup. The battery compartment is huge, and will fit almost anything. I have a large 9.6 and there's still an inch and a half of extra space. For 270, that's pretty much a steal. I'd buy one if I didn't already have a CA M14. Hell I paid twice as much as you did for my M14.
