I have a mil-dot scope, and I understand how it works, but it's still a little difficult to apply theory to practice.

You will love a SR25 because the gearbox is meant for a DMR. Reaching targets out to 200ft is easy. The best part is if you miss, the next shot is another trigger pull. You don't need more than 3x on the optics. I use .30 bbs and get good range and consistency.
