Like JDoorn said, the WD-40 may have eaten the oring on your piston.
The place you'll want to put WD-40 is probably along your slide - though, I don't know how far apart you can pull that particular springer.
It would probably be cheaper and easier to just buy a new springer, rather than buy replacement parts and try get them into it.
