There is only one open-bolt "gen", ans yes, it's the latest.
It does not have the hinge place issue anymore, the plastic part was modified a bit.
The internals are completely different from closed-bolt, and work like a pistol.
All in, yes, a great gun.
I have been running mine for over 2 years now.
