what rifles/guns do you own? What are you most likely to field on a given day vs a backup if things breakdown.
If all you own are m4s then it makes it easy... everything on the market caters to an m4 setup.
How customizable do you want it? You can go with super light weight like a tactical tailor mav and add whatever carrier and pouches you want... or you can go with a plate carrier or chest rig that have some integrated pouches, some molle space.
