I'm gonna be the usual guy and say to get AV'd as a start.
Then, go to a local shop, fondle some guns, and pick one you like....
... then go home and look for one on the classifieds. You can probably get one in good shape with a charger and battery and possibly upgrades for the price you'd pay elsewhere.
