After further inspection with a light, you're right. It IS still caught on the mag catch. the issue is the mag catch cant retract far enough back to release the mag. So should I ever manage to get it out, I'll need to sand down the mag catch a bit to solve the issue. I just tried a butter knife with no success. I'll report back after I try some other things I can find.
