My first pair, cheap junkers for $120 shipped. The leather is cheap, ripped in a few places... But I have always maintained every inch of them.
5 years on... Still in use with my brother, going strong.
SMW - Bought mine a few months before Brian, no issues yet.

Every few months, especially in the summer (more usage months) I give my boots a good coating of 100% pure neats foot oil, until it cannot soak up more.
This goes on the whole boot, bottom as well.
Finish up with Obenaufs LP, and they are good.
For winter, I may give a small coat or two of "Sno Seal" just as an added touch.

After an event... Brush clean, no dirt is to remain.

Damn, you put a lot of effort in to just your boots. Maybe I am just lazy =P
