- Thought of a similar idea. It'd be spring loaded, not wound, and the BB's would be in front of high tension springs, with good, rubber topped followers.
- Situate a bunch of tubes all the way around a circular core (shaped like a grenade), put an inverted cone type "distributing plate" on top, and use a ticker (like an old style oven timer) to spin the mechanism from "locked" to "Followers go WHAP, BB's go flying"
Reusable, could be fairly well sealed...
Lots peeps gonna say the same things though, along the lines of:
- Teh GAY! I are teh leet better, and IMO things don't work if I've never seen them!
- It's gonna be TOO HEAVY, and it's going to hit you in the face and you'll die
- Do it, prove it works, THEN show us.
I'm a big fan of the 3rd one, but my input is similar to the above:
- A winder won't send BB's very far. It's got to be abrupt and quite a bit more powerful (like gas or explosive). I think it COULD be done with springs, but capacity and distribution of BB's might not be that great...
Then again, for a non-pyrotechnic solution, anything beats what's available right now... (aka, nothing really)
