Dont wait 2 years to play, 16 is old enough for you to start out, most fields allow players aged 16-18 to play as long as their parents sign a waiver for them that day. Just make sure your parents approve and your good to go, bring them out to a game and possibly rent someones spare/second AEG and try it out that game.
