I've seen and used a few similarly... No problems either. I guess if it's the same KSC Japanese version vs. Taiwan version... maybe there's a few more lemons in one batch than the other...

Either way, I'd trust the new KSC USP. Might even be one of the first to buy it, if I liked them enough. (which I don't...)

It does look very nice though, and if it shoots and cycles anything like the Compact, it'll certainly make for a nice pistol.
