the answer is NO!! a airsoft gun IS considered a firearm under the law, however as they usually are not over the 500fps and 5.7joule threshold they do not require licensing or registration. you cannot discharge a firearm in most municipalities (towns and cities) and this goes for bb and pellet guns. as they replicate real firearms and your neighbors won't know the difference, this will result in a call to the police about a kid with a gun and you're in for a world of trouble. use some common sense and play at a designated airsoft or paintball field, but certainly not your backyard. SHEEEESH!!
