well warm weather will by far give you your best results as it allows the gas to expand, while in colder weather the gas will more then likely either freeze or come out mostly in a few shots as it stays more in a liquid state.
Upgrading to a metal slide and heavier springs/etc will also cause you to use more gas, as it will take more gas to make the action work (hope that makes sense).

Basically what are you looking at doing, maybe this should be asked first then we can answer the question you are more then likely looking for.
