Regardless of the potential wear you could experience from going up to a 9.6v battery. After trying a 9.6v in a brand new CA AUG A1, which should behave similarily to the gun in question, I'm not going to try it again. Semi was fine but full-auto was absolutely ridiculous. Sounded like the gun was going to break in half. There was a distinct noise level increase as well.
