I guess I missed reading that in your original post. I've run difluoroethane in a couple of GBB's as a last-ditch resort and didn't experience what you're getting. I've always been under the impression that difluoroethane will only eat the rubber in your seals after prolonged use although I'm willing to be wrong there.
The problem you described could have been caused by insufficient lube but I now don't think that's the case.
When you say the mag "vents like mad" is this during filling? If you're using a home-made butane adaptor they're not very durable so the nozzle tip is probably not mating with the fill valve on your mag quite as well as it did on your first fill. Most mags will benefit from being filled longer if you're using duster although the TM 1911 mags are quite small.
Also allow some time for the mags to come to room temperature before you use them. At the minimum hold the mag in your hand until it is no longer uncomfortably cold.
