I agree, it really is a shame.

Also it says "GLock," not "GLOCK," which looks a bit lame.
And the "9"'s that make up the "9x19" aren't even close to the real steel's font.

Before I polished my slide, I altered the trades slightly by hand with an engraving tool.
I dug out the white paint that filled the laser etch using a 0.20mm hand engraving tool.
I also capitalized the "ock" of "GLock", as well as extend the 9's so that they curve upwards, like a "g."
I am very pleased.

Oh, you can also polish the barrel without losing the trades as well (even though the etch looks to be even finer than it is on the slide).
The shine looks quite good at first, but after a few days it begins to dull, due to oxidization.
I am still very happy with the appearance of the slide, however. It hasn't dulled much at all.

At the end of the day though, I still find myself longing for a G&G G19 metal slide. Just the slide.
Although I've heared things bad things about the powercoat they used...
It is easily rubbed off, and that it's an odd shade of...colour... (?)
Beats me... but the trades are still awesome.
