For some reason I can't seem to view your pics (very slow load), but I'm guessing that you're noticing some damage to the chamber cover opening area. I know of two other Hicapas with this issue and have noted that my own hicapa is getting worse around there (3 total now)
Strange thing is that my own hicapa is still shooting the plastic barrel. Instead of the slide being damaged, the plastic barrel is losing the fight. I'm not sure what is to blame as I am shooting a PGC Kimber slide. I have a feeling that slide manufacturers may have missed some important features in the TM slide design. I'm taking a closer look, but haven't found any differences yet.
In the meantime, I have found it helped to bevel the top front and rear edges of the chamber cover (pics to follow) to reduce binding when the slide returns to battery.
