I personally own a TM p226, and sware by it. I wouldn't upgrade it, unless your feel you really have to do it. Shooting stock on propane has been fine for mine. I might put on a metal outer barrel however, and a tight bore barrel it tighten up the groupings a bit. Other then that, I would invest your cash into spare mags and a good holdster and a pistol lanyard. The KSC will probably last you longer externally, but I know that I like my weapons to show ware and personally on the outside.
Not a game goes by where I don't empty all of my mags every round, and I plink a lot in my basement. I have probablly put 8000 rounds through mine, with a majority of that with Propane, and it is still going strong. Just make sure you keep it well maintained, and it will treat you very well.
