The easy question is the battery fitting situation, this can be solved with things like a PEQ or a battery bag if you wish to keep the sliding stock.

As for the 9.6V 2000MAH not being able to run the gun, you should definitely try to find a gun doctor in your area to have a look at things like shimming in that gun. Would need a lot more details in order to narrow it down for you online, but you'd still need to get a gun doc to take it apart for you to fix it anyway.

The biggest problem you're gonna find is your location is stated to be New Jersey. There is little we can do for you up here in Canada as airsoft can't cross the border with out special licensing and permits.
