I spent over $2000 last year getting into airsoft. Gun, batteries, charger, mags , side arm, clips , vest , couple sets of camo , belt , goggles , ammo and any thing I forgot.
This damn sport is addictive as heroin and just as expensive.
As for a starter weapon go with a armalite of what ever looks good to you, they are the same, I got a CA33E and its been flawless to me and its a good platform for different styles of combat.
