average cost here in canada for a 14 mm + or- thread is around the $250 mark. Also read all the stickeys in the upgrade section your going to see that you will have to do a hell of a lot of work to get what you want. Also note that you will have to change the hop up system out completly as the m 14 barrel dosent come in any other lengths and the hop up has a very special way to mount to that barrel. Oh and did I mention that the fine tune, well sealed hopup system is one of the major reasons why the m-14 is so effective. I applaude your idea of changing your m14 to your liking but I would recomend that you use a gun tech with a hell of a lot of experience or start with some easier projects until you have all the info and skills required for this undertaking.
