I picked one of these up a little over a month ago.

The quality is great, I haven't had any problems running it on propane in stock form, you realy don't need to buy a metal slide... not right away anyway.

If you look at the internals, anywhere the slide makes contact with the frame there are small round metal pins connected to larger metal fixings that disperse the impact evenly along the entire front/back end of the slide.

This essentially gives the slide the durability of a metal, or even more so.

I fired the glock straight down when I first got it ( on propane. ) causing a massive release of liquid gas that blew the slide back harder then I have ever seen on any gun...

it did bend the slide out of its seating on the frame, and on any other gun I'm sure it would have broken something... but on the glock 17 not even a scratch, its an impressive mix of strength and flexibility.

I would say the Guarder Improved spring guide set is a good purchase, you should then feel safe using propane until you can afford the metal slide upgrade.

note : with the money you will save using propane you can quickly save up enough for a nice steel slide.

I would give this gun 10/10.

Good purchase, although you should research before you buy... I guess you can't go wrong with a marui these days. So good work:P
