Also, aside from cleaning the bladder, don't forget to clean the tube. That's where all the bad taste comes from. Backwash gets into it, and bacteria grows in it when it's sitting on your closet floor. I clean my bladder out with dishsoap and water. Pick up a bottle brush for baby bottles that has a wire handle. You'll be able to bend the head around and get into all the corners of the bladder. Rinse it out well. As for the tube, I use a rifle cleaning kit. you won't believe the crap you'll get out of it on your first pull. Pull it through a few times till it comes clean. You can use whatever you want, I use chunks of paper towel. Reassemble, and enjoy.
If you're
really having trouble getting the taste out, you can try Polident tablets. Just make sure to leave something open, either the fill hole or bite valve. And unless you like minty water, use the non-flavoured ones
