odd part
I think it is the little plastic filler that holds down either the red or black wire in the mechbox. If I remember it right it just sits on top of the wire in the bottom back corner (or it might be the front side) to keep the wire from getting pinched.
I don't think it's essential (i.e. won't blow up anything if it's not in there) but keeps the wiring tidy.
They get flipped out by the wire when the mechbox gets opened up.
Anyway, just my guess, the pictures are a little fuzzy.
